Music by Nature Sounds.ca
Music for relaxation, meditation, and getting rid of stress! Composed of nature sounds, and ONLY nature sounds, these songs have a calming, centering effect on the listener. Come, leave your daily stresses behind, and listen to the preview clips of some "natural" music. In our CDs, we attempt to recreate the wilderness experience, and with this goal in mind the CDs feature pristine recordings with low background noise, no sounds of domestic animals, and absolutely no mechanized sounds.
The goal is not to just record a particular species, but also to capture the feeling of its habitat, and the tempo with which it speaks. So the recording location plus the area is chosen with care. I am only satisfied when that special place which exudes a certain feeling of "soul", is found. At these spots the inhabitants seem to have an "extra" presence. Microphone placement is critical, not just to record the inhabitants, but to also capture the feeling of space that only that one spot can portray. No studio reverb or echo is ever used, instead the natural, more complex and psychologically interesting, reverb is recorded. By comparison, studio reverb and echo is stale, lifeless and contrived when applied to nature sounds.
Natural sounds take multiple paths to reach our ears. Each single sound we hear takes a multitude of different paths before reaching our ears. Hence, to record all these sources, omni-directional microphones (microphones that "listen" in all directions - not just one) are used to capture the true spirit and condition of each sound. These paths speak of moss-covered rocks, rocky cliffs, pine needle carpets, smooth glassy water... the list is endless because the environmental possibilities are endless.
